Resumen

This article is intended to present a systematic review of the development of computational thinking in the regular basic education of South American countries. For this study, the following topics were investigated: Educational studies and policies, methodologies designed for the teaching of computational thinking, languages, and tools used and the techniques or methods for assessment of computational thinking in the regular basic education.
